Natural killer (NK) cells, are immune system cells that patrol the body, destroying viruses, bacteria, and other harmful cells and substances.

Naturopathic medicine, or naturopathy, is a comprehensive system of healthcare that seeks to support and restore the body's inherent healing ability, treat the whole person, and address the underlying causes of illness. Licensed naturopathic doctors (NDs) have pre-medical undergraduate training and a doctoral degree in naturopathic medicine from an accredited naturopathic institution. However, naturopaths are unregulated in many states and some practitioners may use the ND initials without adequate training.

NED (no evidence of disease) means that cancer can no longer be detected in the body, although some cells may remain.

Non-myeloablative transplant, sometimes called a mini-transplant, is a less-toxic approach to stem cell transplant using lower doses of chemotherapy. Some diseased bone marrow survives the reduced doses of chemotherapy, which triggers graft-versus-tumor (GVT) effect. This causes the transplanted stem cells to recognize the diseased cells as foreign and attack them.
