I wish these studies would look at other factors that can affect the risk of recurrence. Did the women carry body fat around the middle? That’s where the aromatase enzyme cones from. If you work on building muscle and reducing fat your recurrence risk should be reduced. What about exercise? Diet? Omega-3 supplementation? Stress reduction techniques like meditation? Women have more tools available than drugs that cause debilitating pain and bone loss. Check out Dr. Elizaabeth Boham, long-term survivor and advocate for natural risk reduction therapies.

My aunt had stage IV breast cancer. Surgery only, yet it was 20 years before cancer came back. Radiation cured it, then tamoxifin for 9 years, then 7 years on subsitute before it killed her at 89. Talk to your doc & scream at them until they pay attention to you. I for one am tired of the decisions being made for me. That only leads to earlier deaths for women when doctors decide who lives & who dies.
