CBD

I've seeen some info on here about the use of CBD oil and cannabis in its various forms.  Living in Northern California I have easy access to this.  This is a hot political topic now but regardless of your views on that I can tell you that from my personal point of view in relation to cancer symptoms this stuff works... nausea, appetite, pain, anxiety, sleep, among others.  I've tried the straight oil, edibles (oil mixed with food stuffs), whole flower, etc.  SPARC in SF is a great patient advocacy dispensary with a knowledgable staff. Prestodoc is an on-line resource to get a prescription from an MD (through Skype).  With that in states that have medical marijuana laws on the books you should be able to buy from a dispensary with this.  I smoked pot a bit as a young man but found that it kinda sapped my motivation so dropped it from my life until now. I read that it enhances the ability of chemo to pass the blood brain barrier as well so I've been taking it with that.  If you want to read something interesting look up the human cannabinoid system.  Your body already has receptors for CBD built in.  There are some that think humans and this plant developed symbiotically.  I don't want to start a political discussion but the Federal government reclassed CBD oil as a schedule 1 narcotic (it's non addictive by the way unlike opioid pain killers, I read that you cannot overdose this as it doesn't affect your brain stem unlike opioids).  Why the federal government would put a product out of reach of thousands of people who need it is beyond me.  It has been proven effective.

There is absolutely no doubt that Marijuana is effective in helping with treatment side effects!  There is evidence, mind you in petrie dishes, that in concentrated forms it may actually have a treatment benefit with brain cancer.  This is being studied, not nearly enough though.  Many survivor's have added this concentrate to their "collective" treatment approach.

Hi Dodger, I know a number of dispensary owners here with collectively 100's of cancer patients as customers.  I haven't talked to anyone who has said the CBD has not helped them at least symptomatically so am very much in agreement with you.  For those of you that are concerned abuout the "high" CBD is not psycho active.  It is THC that is psycho active.  Different products have different mixes of the two.  Nearly all concentrated products are now lab tested to determine the concentrations and printed on the label.  My personal philosposhy is that if being a little high helps me through this then so be it regardless of what Sessions or any other politician has to say about it.  Try one night of chemo, Sessions, then come talk to me about it.  And this is from a plant I can grow in my back yard compared to the pain killers I got prescribed. I'll take the natural route.
