vulval cancer

Hi,

I had Lichen Sclerosis about 18 months ago but for the last 6 months I have had a sore 'spot' on my outer vulva lips, it is very stingy and the whole area is itchy. It is more like an ulcer? Have white skin patches too.

Also the 'spot'  occasionally bleeds, should I be worried.

Have lost fat and appetite but still seem to weight the same?

I had vulvar surgery in May 2017 and am now starting Radiation for it. Found a white spot on other side as doc only took off the left. She had said would do both, but didn't. I am hoping Radiation gets it all. Has been a rough road, but not as rough as some. Lots of good advice out here. Main thing is DONT DELAY. KAREN

Helen: Keep me informed, as I start my treatment. Maybe I will have tips for you. Had surgery and now radiation. No lymph involvement for me so I am blessed. Did have something strange on chest X-ray and CT that will be followed. It is tough but sooo worth it to get anonther day on this earth with my grandson. Karen

Are the symptoms i have similar to those you had?

I just have a gut feeling that none of this feels or looks right.

It is strange how some cancers have massive information and others don't. Maybe because of where it is.

Being on my own it is harder to check out the changes too,

I have a daugter and a grandson too.

Even if it isn't I will let you know, we could still stay in touch?

Yes, your symptoms are similar! Vulva cancer is very rare so not much information out there. Get checked now and find someone familiar with it! Sounds exactly like mine. Started with what I thought was ingrown hair, got very itchy, and I thought : cancer! Yup, I was right. My primary doc had never seen anything like it, sent me to gynecologist who took biopsy and sent me to gynecologist oncologist. It went fast from then on, but I am glad as it grows in and the deeper the more involved surgery is. Don't wait for changes! I am in touch. Karen

Hi Karen

Went to the doctor, she said it is the Lichen Sclerosis back but with the itchiness I have scratched so much there are lesions. So need to do the treatment for two weeks and if it improves carry on wth it if not go back and they will investigate more.

I have a steroid cream so can only wait and see.

How are you? If you had not replied I would not have gone to the doctor so thank you.

Worry takes the biggest toll of us! Keep following up as this is sneaky one. Hopefully you will improve with treatment and get back to some normalcy. Now back to land of living! So glad you went, relieves my mind too. :-) Thinking of you, Karen
