I'm looking for a support group. I'm a caregiver that's having a hard time dealing with the fact that my significan other's short term memory is really bad.

Hi tcharlotte,

I have had to deal with this in the past. I suggest the following:

Use reminders on your partner's phone even one to or two to remind your partner to look at the list for the day.

Put list for the day on the phone also under Memo.

Cross off completed items on the phone when finished.

You will have to get use to repeating yourself. Just pretend it is the first time you are saying it, frustrating I know.

All the best - Lesley

Hello Charlotte,

My SO had the same issue due to a car accident he was involved with. He has been taking lion's mane and believes it has helped him regain some of his memory. Do somr research it's fairly cheap and redealy available.

Chalk and chalk boards, not just the big one, but a handheld just for s.o. to use. tell s.o. to use it when watching tv, working on computer etc, it's better and easier than scrap paper or trying to remember some thing that wasn't important anyway but your mind won't let go of. Then naturally the important things go onto a piece of paper in a notebook or a recipe file box for sanity sake.
