Checkup thing has been pushed to tomorrow. Not a big deal, but... irritating.

Update: there's a spot on his prostate which may have been there all along that no one cares about, I think there's something new in the lung, but it's small.

New chemo is FOLFIRI+erbitux, that starts Monday.

He's home with his pump... I think that's FOLFIRI, which he gets for 48 hours every other week. He gets a shorter ifusion of erbitux weekly, I think.

I'm thankful for this thread...my mom is almost done with round 3 and I didn't really know what to expect.  I still don't really, but your sharing has helped, thank you.

No, the erbitux is every other week, alternating with the FOLFIRI, I think. Also you're welcome.

Erbitux done. It actually is going to be administered weekly, wih FOLFIRI being every other week.Hopefu lly this combination of drugs can shut down the cancer for a couple years.

He's got some rash, on his face and chest IIRC, but it apparently doesn't hut or itch or anything... that's normal with erbitux, right?(or is it the FOLFIRI)

Apparently it is, and it's a good sign... I asked about a scan when we were down to get his pump out, apparently nothing has been set.

A good response merely indicates he may be in the center or 60% of the bell curve. You can find the prognosis for his type of cancer. The MD can also supply this information. Cancer patients very often die from complications either from the cancer or from the treatment. A good initial response does not sem to affect the long term prognosis to a significent extent.
