hello guys. i had bleedings between the menstruations then i went to my gyno and it discovered that i have a big polyp that almost filled my uterus. do i have a cancer, can it be malignant or turn into malignant, will the removal be enough to prevent cancer?

Uterine polyps are usually noncancerous (benign), although some can be cancerous or can eventually turn into cancer (precancerous polyps). Small polyps without any symptoms might resolve on their own. The treatment of small polyps is unnecessary unless you're at risk of uterine cancer. But, as you have mentioned that in your case, the polyp is large so it is necessary to treat the polyp. During hysteroscopy, instruments are inserted through the hysteroscope — the device the doctor uses to see inside the uterus — make it possible to surgically remove the polyps. The removed polyp will likely be sent to a lab for microscopic examination that whether it is malignant. If a uterine polyp contains cancerous cells, your doctor will talk with you about the next steps in evaluation and treatment. I would suggest consulting the OB/GYN specialist so that the prompt treatment can begin. Hope the answer helps.
