Bladder Cancer and my 15 year old dog

Hi everyone, my 15 year old female Boston Terrier has been having many urinary symptons for the past 4-5 months including, straining and squatting, frequent urination, and now as of the past couple of weeks blood in the urine. She gets us up several times a night to go pee and then comes back in and licks her vulva for several minutes. She has had two ultrasounds (one by a specialist and one by our regular vet), several urine tests, blood tests, and urine cultures. The doctors cannot figure out what is wrong. My normal vet called me today and said he spoke to a specialist and their thought is that she has urethral cancer and the ultrasound didn't pick it up. Since she is 15 and has heart issues, we aren't able to do the procedure that will check this for sure so this is a guess. I don't want to put her on any drugs at this point. She also has soft stool and colitis issues on and off. I am wondering if anyone has had their dog diagnosed with urethral cancer but where it was difficult to get the diagnosis? I am beside myself of course as she is my baby!
