I am 19 years old and my father has been living with glioblastoma Multiforme  for a year and a half now. I was just wondering if this means the end is very near since he has lived much longer than prognosis' say. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what i can expect with the end and how long is very long to live with this type of brain cancer?

I am sorry that your father is fighting this terrible disease.  There is a web site call brainhospice.com that can answer your questions about the end time.  How long one lasts depends on where the tumor is and how your father responds to treatment.  Each person is different.  Keep your faith and stay informed.  This board will help you lots, at least to show you that you are not alone.

God Bless

Each case is different, depending on the size of the tumor, the location, how much was resected at surgery, the genetic makeup of the tumor in its response to certain drugs, etc, age and health of the patient...

Having said that, I can only tell you what the doctor told my husband - that they will not give us a timeframe of how much time is left until which time, the disease progresses to that point.  I think you are on the right track if your father is experiencing a decline and downturn in health, to the point that it matches what you read on brainhospice.

Sorry to not be much more help, but you will find great support and friendship on this board.  There are some very knowlegeable and helpful people to share their experiences with you.
