Thank you.

Even with a seven or eight percent chance to go beyond 5 years with this stage 4 cancer there's something that tells me she will be within that small possibility. Something about her fight her will to live and her faith

that is great news - I  just started my chemo.  Had my first treatment on Monday.    Yesterday I was exhausted think I slept most of the day! - I did manage about 4 different walks, so that was good.   Got a mile in :- )  Today I am a bit shakey.   How did you do on the chemo - any side effects? I would say it's not too bad, but you just don't feel well.   Not complaining at all 3 months of chemo for many years is not a bad thing.

The gemzar along with a more mild dose of cisplatin seems to have limited side affects. This with lots of juicing and hydration is helpful.

Walking is a great idea. Lots of friends and family around, again faith and prayers.

Dr Berlin of Vanderbilt is now on our team. He's appearing optimistic for clinical trials even though they see 4-5 cases a year. Maybe immunaltheropy a possibility.

My mom was diagnosed at the end of February. At first we were told no additional tumors. Second opinion revealed tumors in liver. No surgery. Received first round of chemo (2 weeks on, one week off). Currently getting second chemo of second round. She is feeling pretty good. Gemzar and Cisplatin. Not overly tired. Eating well and exercising. CT scan doesn’t show tumors. PerscN does. Mri give. To see if they show there )and they do). Will do another mri this summer to see where we are at. Has had no symptoms so we are hoping it stays that way. I like that this message board is available. So little information on gallbladder cancer. Praying for all affected by this terrible disease that a cure is in the near future. Her tumor was sent out for testing. 7 page report came back and we were told it’s not hereditary. Is there anything else I should be looking for in the report?

Dear Redwings, I am so sorry for what your mom is going through, and you with her.
About your question regarding the genomic testing report - it's crucial to find out if she has any targetable mutations and immunotherapy indicators (high MSI - microsatellite instability, high TMB - tumor mutation burden, DNA MMR - dna mismatch repair, PD-1/PD-L1 expression...) - if so, she could be a good candidate for immunotherapy. Ask if this info is in the report or if it hasn't been tested, ask for another sample from the surgery to be sent out for this testing asap.
All my best wishes!
