Vimpat

I take 200mg both morning and night . I have not had a seizure before or since my diagnosis and treatment. My dr believes some of the tremors I experience on my left side are "seizure activity" and thus why I am prescribed this. My surgery was right sided and I had left sided neglect post surgery(18 mos removed) and continue to have left sided weakness. I can walk and get around but my left hand is basically useless.

Curious if others are on this drug and if so do you experience pretty extreme fatigue for the 90 mins or so after you take it. The evening dose doesnt bother me but I have noticed I wake up and have good energy. I usually take the Vimpat a couple hours after I wake and I get very sleepy for 1.5-2hrs after I take it.

Others?

My husband was put on Vimpat after 2 surgery induced seizures. That was in 2017. At one point he was taking 600mg per day. The EEG confirmed he did not have seizure activity and did not have epilepsy, but they kept him on it just in case. The blue ones, he did just fine. He did have fatigue right after taking it. Now that he is finally being weened off, he taking the smaller dose tablet. It makes him nauseous if he doesn't eat something  imediately...plus the fatigue. But this Wednesday he'll finally be off of it, yay :)

His weakness is on the right side.
