My mother was diagnosed with stage c3 ovarian cancer. After 2 years and 12 chemotherapies the side effects of the chemotherapy has damaged her. She was in the emergency room two weeks and had a CT SCAN OF HER ABDOMEN AND PELVIS. The doctor stated the cancer cells were there but not spreading and cleared her for a colonoscopy. Now she is in a re habilitation center for physical therapy because she lost strength in her legs. She has severe neurapathy. The facility cannot do any more for because she is very weak. In the 2 years my mother was never in pain. I believe the chemo damaged her but her oncologist says it's the chemo that's growing. Now they want to send her to hospice all of a sudden without discussing her current diagnosis. They said she terminal but never said her cancer was incurable. All I ever wanted was to treat her symptoms before they got worse so she could continue treatment and now it's too late because she is so weak. I thought their was a difference between palliative care and hospice and the doctors tell me no. I don't know what else to do or ask.
