I have been going through all kinds of testing for pancreatic cancer such as ct scans  ultrasounds xrays and much more. All of them have come back negative. However the tumor markers did come back 6times higher than normal. I am still losing weight, in pain 95% of the time. my back and stomach  hurt I have no appetite. Nause, vomiting, and much more. I guess my question is, is it possible to have pancreatic cancer and no tumor being present?

I probably needed to tell you that the doctor I was seeing told me that it is probably pancreatic cancer but we will have to just wait and see if anything changes.

Dear Jackie,

I'm really sorry to hear about everything you are going through, and that you are suffering. I imagine that the uncertainly is also distressing. Regarding your question, in my opinion, the quick answer is yes. The fact of the matter is that pancreatic cancer is very hard to detect and diagnose due to its location. Often, when a tumor is finally visible, the cancer is very advanced.

I am not a doctor or a professional of any kind... though there has been pancreatic cancer in my family, so I have done some research.

I can only recommend that you seek a second opinion, and try to get to the bottom of it (an official diagnosis, if it is cancer), and seek treatment as soon as possible, as opposed to "watching and waiting".

Sending you much strength and prayers for the best possible situation.

Sincerely,

Punky

Yes just a regular ct scan. My insurance will NOT approve aPET scan because I do NOT  "OFFICIALLY " have a cancer diagnosis as of yet. I dont remember if I  told you before or not. But I  am a Breast cancer survivor and I know by the way I feel that something is going on. But I just dont know how or where to find the right help. Im also having trouble getting back on here to reply at times to. Sorry about being so negative but I  am about ready to just give up.
