New Dr. recommended treating entire scalp w efudex to make sure there are no other basal cell carcinomas present but has not mentioned side effects other than red skin--feel like I am not being notified of how terrible this treatment can be. I had Mohs surgery to remove a 2 inch area 3 years ago but surgeon did not remove pea sized areas around carcinoma because he thought it was associated swelling. Never felt confident that the bad stuff was completely removed. It took about a year for my hair to grow back afterward surgery and it is still really thin--have to cover area with longer hair and a hair clip to disguise it. I am afraid I will go completely bald and have to wear wigs.
