Hello,

My brother Oliver who is 27 years old has recently got diagnosed with Astrocytoma Grade 2. There isn't much online and so far its saying the survial rate is 5 years!!

My brother is extremely upset and is becoming depressed, Since finding out about his illness, he has had 55% of the tumor removed. We have been advised to do chemo and radio but this is something Oliver really don't want to do. I'm just seeing if there is anyone out there that can give him some hope or advice.

Thank you!

Hi Betsy My name is Gina. How is Oliver? Tell him we have the same kind of cancer I have already finished my radiation and I have chemo yet to go. God is given us a break because we are at a two tumor. We didn’t get three and we didn’t get four so we have a better chance of recovering from this cancer, that is what I believe. Tell him I know he’s young I’m 50 years old but I do understand, I have children I have grandchildren but I want to survive it. Tell him do the radiation it’s not that hard and I did six weeks of that and now I’m going to do the chemo with pills at home for six months. Oliver needs to be positive don’t let him get down if he gets down talk to someone like I do. I had to get on happy pills because I couldn’t understand why I never smoked or drink or anything but I have cancer and it upset me. It runs through my family those older than me, by my parents my grandparents there’s nothing we can do about it but we can survive it. Oliver you are probably a good person and none of us deserve this but if you want to talk to me I will be right here and it helps to talk to someone. Thanks Betsy I will pray for you guys
