I am looking for any help! My sister who is 46 was last month (Dec. 2004) diagnosed with a extremely rare type of brain tumor called "Pleomorphic Sarcoma of the Dura". The hospital where she is at has never seen this type before, so they got a second opinion from Mayo. Mayo has never seen it before either, but has heard of it. The problem we are facing is that since there is no history of it, we don't really know what works and what doesn't. So, if anyone has heard of it, please let me know. My sister is starting her second week of radiation. They are doing 6 weeks (5 days a week) of "external beam" and then 3 high dose treatments of "stereotactic radiation" They are unsure of whether or not to do chemo. I feel and send my love to all of you going through this. Its not an easy road, but we can make it! thank you

Hi I am Prasad Krishnan, a neurosurgeon in India. I have just operated on a patient with a huge lesion from C1 to C7 that was adherent to the spinal dura. A macroscopically complete tumor excision has been done. The biopsy report has come out as pleomorhic sarcoma. Can anyone give me some idea about the adjuvant chemo / radiotherapy regimen to be followed as it is the first time we are encountering such a situation. Thanks Prasad
