My dad

Dad spent last week in the hospiital, he was dehydrated and not able to eat. He thinks he has to hide his illness. I keep telling him he has to tell the doctors any issues he has but I think he believes if he doesn't admit it that it doesn't exist.

He finished 6 months of chemo and was having some minor trouble eating. After a 2 month break from the chemo he was not able to drink even water. He spent a week in the hospital and they put in a feeding tube. He had an appointment today with the doctor and they decided to do another PET scan. They scoped him the week before he went to the hospital and found the cancer had grown and thats what caused the eating and drinking issues. They are also going to change the type of chemo and start radiation.

My dad told me today that he would not be around much longer, I of course tried to make him not give up. I told him that maybe this new treatment will work since the last 6 months of chemo did not. My family is leaning on me for strength but some days it is really hard to handle. I really would like to know what to expect next, if I have to be the strong one I need to be prepared.
