cancer payments

After my husband walked out of the hospital when they wanted us to sign that any life insurance I would recieve would go to them because his insurance wouldn't pay for the treatments the doctors say he needs . The treatments will not help him live longer, he is in stage 3 or 4. Doctors say it is too close to 4 to rule 4 out. They have given him 6 mos to a year at the longest. When the doctor that was in charge of the radiation found out she told me that she wanted me to take my husband to her clinic and if we paid her we paid her. If we didnt we didnt.  The a co-worker said that they didnt trust her that she would wait until after my husbands death to sue me for everything we have to collect pay.  We dont know what to do, go for the treatments even though we know his time is limited and trust her or dont trust her and expect her to sue?

Don't sign over anything!  You may want to talk to an estate/probate lawyer.  My dad has nothing in the way of money and we are finding that there are ways available to help him - through Medicare, programs run by the drug companies, etc.  Talk to someone before giving away your life's savings.

By the way, very sorry for what your husband, you, and your family are going through...cancer sucks!!!!

Dont sign anything over !! If he is a veteran he can receive healthcare through the veterans administration- I do. I am receiving chemotherapy and had radiation to my throat..I am on chemo now because it has spread to my lungs.

NO ONE can put a time on life. I was given 3-8 moths, its going on 11 right now. So keep the faith and maybe get a second opinion..

The American Cancer Society may have some info to help you, dont be afraid to reach out for help of any sort, its out there.. even legal, emotional support
