Anyone else with stageIV ovarian cancer with pleural effusion?

I'm having a heck of a time finding anyone with the same diagnosis as myself. I am 46,weigh 140,am in pretty good shape. Suddenly find myself with a lung pain, whisked away to debulking surgery, and am on carbo platin, taxol, and next Avastin. I am reading sooo much!  Really wondering if conventional medicine is going to prolong my life, or make it worse. If you are out there,I would love to hear a good story, or many. Especially anyone who has implemented diet, (like Gerson's), sea salts, Shitakes,B-17 (laetrile), DMSO, etc. Successes, failures, traditional things instead of, or in combination with, the traditional. Is this a thing where only the ultra-riche who can go to Brazil or Switzerland for special treatments make it? I am totally desperate for hope!

Have you done any research on the value of Intravenous vitamin c treatments?   I have benefited personally from this protocol and have seen many other patients at the clinic I go to, some terminal with various cancers, returned to good health after taking this treatment.

Here are just two links to information that I hope will be helpful and encouraging for you. If you'd like to learn more let me know. I have quite an extensive file on this very valuable natural treatment.

I have only watched three of the videos from this  link so far but the presenters are highly respected professionals and the information is so valuable I felt I should pass it along.

#2. IVC Chemo & Radiation Are They Compatable?

I watched the entire symposium.Very impressive. We all could benefit from IVC or liposome encapsulated vitamin C. I'm going to order some online right now! There was some very intelligent information on  the dos and don'ts regarding cancer treatments. Thank you again for sharing this.Very interesting also to note that traditional chemo treaments have shone almost no improved numbers of survivors (per 100,00 people) as in 1950. Alternative therapies are the future!

Aloha,

I am a stage IV Fallopian Tube (Ovarian) cancer survivor, now 4.5 yrs after treatment, with no sign of it's return.  There are some of us out here!  Don't give up hope.  I have some doctors rethinking possible.  Someone has to be in that surviving percentile, why not us.

I supplimented Coriolus mushroom, DHA (pharm. grade), Vit c. I found that visualizing myself, part by part, healthy did amazing things. Sounds strange, but it won't hurt to try it.

Finally start IV C next week after my six chemos have been done. Thanks to you! I have chosen to keep up with the oncologist at Providence in conjunction with the naturopath, and consult with the naturopath/oncologist too. I'm crossing my fingers.

Hi. New to this site. Guess am technically a stage IV (if my interpretation of the stages is correct) though at this point my doctor use the term metastatic GCT.

2005, rushed to the ER because of extreme pain, operated and left ovary removed (ruptured left ovarian cyst).  Biopsy returned malignant (Stage 1C), had 6 monthly cycles of chemo (taxol and carboplatin).

2012, seems my right lung likes to play tennis, cause its got a tennis ball size mass somewhere up there base on x-ray and CT scan result. Biopsy and lab test shows GCT. CA125 of 29.

Right now, feeling tired already at the thought of having a  second bout with the big rare C.  Don't know the action plan yet, arranging a meeting with the doctors for Friday to discuss things.  Just glad there are sites like this to help others get more information and for support and encouragement.
