adenocarcinoma of the cervix stage 2b well differentiated

Hi I am looking for answers. I have been diagnosed with cervical cancer adeno of the cervix well differentiated this year in March. A lot of research and biopsys were done before until I was fully diagnosed. In July I started with chemo and radiation as coadjuvant treatment which is the golden stardard treatment for this kind of cancer. Now I am going to see a gyn oncologyst who is taking care of my treatment and all the doctors at the radiation center talked about a possible surgery to remove if something remains inside. After all the reading I have done on the internet I think doctors are wrong and that cervical cancer stage 2b especially adeno is non curable and this kind of treatment is only palliative to extend your life a bit more. Is that so? I need to receive feedback from others . Please help as i am going through a very tough period in my life and I think that each day that passes by is a day I got less to live. ... From the bottom of my heart please help}

OH sweetie!! No, it is not that is not curable!!  Do You know why I know? Because I had Adenocarcinoma stage IIB...I had radiation and a total hysterectomy. Honey, it's been 18 years ago...I'm not going to say that I didn't have to fight, and I didn't have to go through trials and tribulations, but I made it and so can you.. I had quite a story and journey. It is a little too much to post here, but feel free to read everything I went through. Please, if you have any questions or need to message me, do so!! I understand what you are feeling and what you are going through! See my story at

hi

Thanks for answering and taking the time to answer since nobody ever answered. I read your whole story and it was good. The bad part is that they said my cancer is non operable so I had seven weeks of chemo plus radiation all together. Now they are going to re evaluate me again for brachy. Unfortunately this is all they can do and they will check me up every two months so that is why I say it is non curable....

why did they say it's inoperable? I would get a second opinion. As you read my story, I mentioned how I went through three different doctors..honey, don't stop!  keep fighting..its your life you need to fight for..you can't just sit back and wait!!! trust me! I know what I am talking about. Get on the  phone first thing in the morning and call and call and call...call until you find someone to listen and that can help..if you would like to message me where you live, I will help you find someone..it makes me feel helpless when I know that you can find someone and I can't go do it for you...contact me and tell me where you live and I will be happy to research for you..call the cancer treatment centers of america...call the american cancer society..honey, there are places to call,, do it!

I can certainly understand now why they can't do the surgery and I wish you well. Your doctors know what they are doing and you must have a wonderful staff of doctors that are taking care of you.  I will pray for you that they find something else they can try. Good luck

I had the same cancer and had a total hysterectomy in 2005.

I didn't have radiation oer chemo.

I hit my 5 year mark so I am a "survivor" but now in 2012, I have a large destructive mass in my hip socket that I found out about in Feb. I decided the holistic route but it did get larger by 2cm. They are calling it stage 4 because they believe it's the same cancer except it somehow made it's way to my hip. I think they don't know what they are talking about anymore!

But if I had a chance to do it over again, I would still get the hysterectomy but I would have loved to know that once you are a cancer survivor, you are a cancer fighter for life!! Take care of your body :)

I too am a cervical cancer survivor - radiation, chemo and brachy - that was 11 years ago. You can do it. It will be hell, but some day it will all be a distant memory, I promise.

Message me if you like, sometimes it helps to hear hope.
