Urachal Adenocarcinoma Spread to Lungs?

Has anyone heard/had metastasis to the lungs from urachal adenocarcinoma? My husbands latest CT scan shows 2 pulmonary nodules one of which has continued to increase in size since 11/12. He has survived urachal adenocarcinoma for 3 years now after surgery (partial cystectomy), chemotherapy for 6 months, and 2 years of experimental drug infusion. However, now his CT scans shows this development. The latest radiolgical report indicates a rise in possibility of metastasis. He is being treated at MD Anderson for the past 3 years, but his doc seems to be waiting too long as far as I am concerned at this point. Even though the nodules have increased in size to 5 x 4 mm, the doctor is having him wait another 3 months to have a PET scan. I have looked up information about lung cancer and it is not at all optimistic. . As a matter of fact it looks so grim, that I am very very upset right now. Anyone with any experience or knowledge in this area, please post.

I had regular bladder cancer that spread to my ribs and a lung. The lung took longer to clear up but with less harsh chemo. I had a 3 month break from the other chemo before they started the chemo just for the lung. Worked.

Dear Vtoole,

I just came across your post I am a 39 year old mum of 1 and I was diagnosed with urachal adenocarcinoma in May 2009 and I had a partial cystectomy in June of that year along with the removal of my belly button in the September. I was then left getting check Ups every 3months and then in the November 2010 I was rediagnosed with mets to my lungs with numerous tumours on both sides. I was then put chemo I had 19 rounds to start with then I had to take a break as I required an operation to remove growths from my ovaries which thankfully were benign I then went back on chemo in August of last year as some of them had grown, its been a bit tougher this time around as the first chemo they put me back on didn't seem to work, now they have me on Avastin and oxilaplatin and Xeloda just waiting now to have a scan in early May to see how things are going but my blood cea levels are looking good so far.

Hi Mark, So far so good my last ct had shown that the mets on my lungs had shrunk by half, I have another ct in two weeks so fingers crossed it will be as positive as the last one. Hope all is ok with yourself. Marcella

Mos1502 How are you doing? What has been the results of the mets to your lungs? Have not been on this site for some time. Sorry.

Dear Marcella

im new to the blog. I also have newly diagnosed lung mets following en bloc and umbilicus removal 2017. MD Anderson (Dr. Seifker-Radtke) is offering chemo. What can you tell me about your experience w chemo (what meds?), quality of life during chemo, and any other info that might help me decide on chemo v nothing? I am otherwise healthy 62yo w good support system who loves the outdoors and an active lifestyle. THanks
