Femininity after Pelvic Exteneration

Hi, I'm new here.  I see that I am not alone even though this is supposed to be a rare surgery.  I am supposed to have a full pelvic exteneration on Aug. 5th.  If I have it, I don't think I will have vaginal reconstruction.  They said if I want reconstruction the ext surgery will be about 4 hrs longer than it will be if I don't plan reconstruction.  What I have read on the subject is that the neovagina (new vagina) is not much like my original one, it won't function like my original one and requires constant care to keep it functioning.  Can anybody who has had the surgery and reconstruction tell me how it affected your sense of femininity?  Many breast cancer survivors say they feel like they lost their femininity with masectomy.  Is this worse?
