I've had very good response from Keytruda with very little side effects. I had surgery to remove Melanoma from my neck, lower right lung and right arm pit limp nodes. Then I got the call from the results of my CT scan and PET scan that it had spread into entire body (Less brain) and was given 6-12 months. I was put on Keytruda quickly and just 6 treatments I received an unbelievable call from my Oncologist that my last scan was clear! Amazing to say the least.

My husband had the same thing 3c and I asked about Keytruda and was told the same thing.  It is a last resort stage IV treatment controlled by the FDA.  Keep in mind the FDA is controlled by the big pharma and they want you go through the other meds first because it is more money in their pockets! They are playing with people's lives!  President Jimmy Carter got Keytruda immediately?  If this is such a great drug you need to get it now.  If I were you I would be pressuring for this drug.  By the time my husband got the Keytruda it was too late for him!  Keep Trying with the pressure.  Don't take no for an answer.  Best of Luck

Keytruda is an FDA approved drug, but its expensive. BCBS is paying for my treatments without any issues.

I as well was not BRAF positive, but keytruda has worked for me! I'm only 26 years old and In October 2016 I had was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma of the abdominal wall and lungs, originating from a large teratoma on my ovaries. I was immediately started on Keytruda and after four treatments that I received once every three weeks, I had a pet scan done. On Valentine's Day 2017 (4 months later) my doctor informed me that all of the cancerous nodules had completely disappeared! The only side effects that I've experienced is a slight change to my thyroid, a small rash across my abdomen, and a bit of drowsiness for a few days following treatment. My doctor recommends that I stay on treatment for a few more years until we have a bit more of an idea on when to stop treatment.

Congratulations it's an amazing drug. I'm down to only one visible spot in my lung and its 1/4 inch compared to a large mass four months ago. I also experience fatigue after a treatment but that's rather minor for what it does.

Yes approved but when my husband was being treated he could not have it until he was stage 4.  By then the cancer had spread to his brain but the oncologist didn't check his brain until the lesions bled and therefore a stroke.  He lived only 2 months after!  Things have changed a little since then.

I have stage 4 endometrial cancer and because of an intestional issue SIBO not treated correctly by gastro i lost 55 pounds and could not do chemo . So i have known for a year and have gone to sloan kettering and mayo . My oncologist did n't offer very much. She went along when i told her mayo suggestd progesterone therapy which i have taken but hasn'st done much. Then dro in Ny suggested i have my tumor tested for mismatch repair disorder (a mutation) and if you are positive you ae eligile to go on Keytruda. In 2017 FDA approved that drug for all solid tumors wwith this mutation. I was positive and am now contacting Keytruda to see wha help i can get to help pay for it. But am frustrated that my oncologist has not been more proactive. I have sjogrens and so have been concerned about the immune system issue and the side effects. But don't have much choice. anyone know anyone who had bad side effects .

I just finished treatment #27 and the only issues I’ve had are itching and two to three days of extreme fatigue. I’ll take these minor conditions after told 6-12 months to live. I’ve had four CT scans cancer free. PET scan before treatment My melanoma was a total body thing even after many surgeries. It works

That is awesome news!!! Are you still getting treatment? My hubby has been on Keytruda for the past 3 years and down to 4 small tumors from total of 17. Hoping for a cancer free CT scan soon, however, we have already discussed with oncologist that he will still on track every 3 weeks. Only issues have have been same as you, itching, extreme fatigue and Diabetes 2, as well as some body aches.

 I hope you stay NED!!!!
