Recently I was told by my doctor that I have been diagnosed as Jak2 V617F Mutation positive. I am 76 years old, healthy and exercise daily. Currently I am under no medication except 81mg aspirin, which I have taken since age 65. My platelet count exceeded 400k level about 8 years ago and has increased and decreased above the level to 601k which is the highest level been tested. I have no other symptoms at this time. My red and white blood cells have tested normal at all times. My doctor advised me to take hydroxurea, which I decided against after reading its side effects. Instead, he has agreed to monitor my condition every 2 months. Is there anyone out there with a condition similar to mine?
