Do I have cancer? Please help...

Hi

I have become worried that i might have vulvar cancer... About 1 or 2 months ago, i discovered a lump right next to my left outer labia.

At first, the skin 'above' it was normal, and i just thought it was a pimple or an ingrown hair, and that it would pass in a week or two.

But here i am now: It was grown to be approx. 2 centimeters, and the skin 'above' it has become darker, with blurred edges. It's also a little deep in under my skin.

The lump started out being sore, but now its painfull just to wear pants.

I have done some research, and its appearently uncommon with young girls. Im only fifteen, almost 16, and im really scared and insecure to go to my doctor, and that she might tell my parents without my consent. I live in Denmark, so can se do that legally over here, since im under 18?

Please help, Im desperate...

Love,

Laura

Laura I'm a mother of 6. 2 girls and 4 boys. I strongly urge you to go to your mother NOW. If you just simply can't, get to a gynecologist NOW. You're way to young to have cancer and its unlikely that you do but, DON'T mess around with this! I'm sending you love from the USA, please please please tell your mother! Rani

Dear Laura,

You may find it hard to tell your mother, but that's what you need to do. I'm a grandmother (actually a great-grandmother), but I still remember being afraid to tell my mother about things that were worrying me, especially anything to do with my body, so I sympathise with how you feel.

You have seen this getting worse, so you know it's not likely to go away by itself, and the longer you leave it, the worse it could get and the harder to cure - and possibly the harder you will find it to tell her.  Once you've told your mum she'll make sure you get the help you need, and I'm sure you'll find it a great relief once she knows and it's being treated. You don't have to deal with this alone.

Bless you Lauru,

Sending you love,

Lorizin.
