Made It Through The First Year!

Today marks one year since my husband passed due to complications of Gliosarcoma. I made it. It wasn't easy and it wasn't always fun. I survived the hurt, the grief (which is still there) made it through a major back surgery and working on therapy.

I still miss him everyday. I don't cry as often and my moods are so much better than before. I KNOW he is at peace. I KNOW he is not hurting/failing/frustrated, worrying about me or my future.

Time passing has helped in so many ways. He always knew I was pretty independent but I'm not sure he thought I could make it on my own. I can.

Now I'm going to start focusing on me. Lose some weight, persue some things I've wanted to do. Get my house in order and purge some junk neither of us needed to save. I don't mean to imply the grieving is over--not by a long shot. I'm just starting to feel like me again. A new me, but me.

I saw a thought on grief and would like to share it with you all. It sums up perfectly what I feel.

Well, now I can't import it here! Bummer. Anyway, I wanted to share my thoughts above and I hope all who are grieving will find peace, as I did.
