Brca1 positive

First of all I am not a cancer patient but am looking for some cancer related advice. I am a 74 year old female. One daughter, age 45, has ovarian cancer, had surgery, and is brca1 positive. I have 2 other daughters, 1 tested brca1 negative, the other positive. The one who tested positive, age 48, has had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed and will be having a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction soon. The daughter with o.c. Will be having the mastectomy eventually since she is not strong enough yet. My husband and I got tested and just learned that I am brca1 positive. My doctor said I could just have mammograms and breast mri's alternating every 6 months, take the drug tamoxifen or have a mastectomy. I have been doing research and have found a lot of information for women who are my daughters' ages but can't find anything for someone my age. On the one hand I've made it to age 74 with no breast cancer but on the other I don't want to be in my 80's and get diagnosed with b.c., need surgery and chemo, radiation, etc. I've watched my daughter getting chemo and observed others and I really do not want to go through that. I am leaning toward having the mastectomy but guess I'm looking for validation that I am making the right decision. I'd aporeciate any comments.
