Hello!  Another update.  It's been a year since I've posted last, and I am still doing fine!  Full remission, taking low dose Xeloda every other week.  Last scan was December 6, 2017, all clear.  I have another routine scan coming up in late April.  I still take curcumin every day, and will for the rest of my life.  July 23 will be 2 years since my stage IV diagnosis.

I was Her-2 negative, for those asking.  Good luck to all, make the most of every minute!

Thank you so much... my hubby is also Her-2 negative. He takes cannabis oil and is on keytruda right now so cannot take curcumin but I will once this trial is over in November. He isn’t in remission but as of last scan (next one end of this month) he only has one liver lesion that shrunk t9 half its original size. Original dx he had swollen lymph and adrenal gland, sizeable tumour in esophagus and two liver lesion. He wasn’t expected to see his first grandchild who was born April 2017... so far so good. He was on a very strict diet but has rebelled ... he promises to return to it if the next scan doesn’t show more shrinkage. I have control issues...yikes...I just want a hubby to grow very old with !!! Best of life to everyone !!!! :)

By the way, are you allowed to post where you received treatment? Were you ever part of a support group?

Wishing you and your hubby lots of success. Did he by chance go on a raw food diet? We are just at the beginning. My husband will get his 2nd treatmen of FOLFOXt Tuesday. My husband also had a sizable tumor--6cm. We are planning on also seeing a holistic doctor tomorrow who specializes in cancer and works with oncologists. I am praying our oncologist will listen to him.

Hi , I don't know if you ever check  this blog anymore.  My husband has stage IIII ashophageal cancer and it is the lymph node by his clavicle that they keep talking about.  That it changes everything if it is cancer.  Was the lymph node by your husband's clavicle cancer?  They say if it is it is much worse.

Thank you and I hope everything has gone well f or you.

Hi Mashahasha Sorry I just saw this message,... my husband receives treatment for keytruda in a clinical trial in Montreal Quebec. I have him on a diet of no sugar, lots of nuts, no dairy (mainly because of the keytruda), VERY little red meat, lots of fruits and veggies, as little wheat as possible, no alcohol, ... he is a stubborn man from a small town who eat drink and are merry (if you know what I mean) so it is a struggle...lol... He also takes high THC caps...2 grams a day... I was in a support group at one time but we move back and forth from province to province for treatment so there is little time. I depend on these sites and good friends for support. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Hubby’s last scan was very good again...just one shrinking liver spot that the doc says now may not even be cancerous... good luck..stay strong... W

Hi Cheryl,

Your post was a long time ago so you may not be on this site anymore.  But I felt like you had written my story the only difference is we have just started this journey.  No symtoms, then a few choking incidences in a healthy active non smoking Dad.  We are starting treatments this week. So I wonder , is it because of radiation you cannot get surgery?  Also, we have one node in the neck that dr.s say is "unheard off" but apparently not!!!  They say that is a big difference in survival, staging and treatment .  Did you find this was the case?  Did they biopsy the neck?

Thanks  and good luck to your family also!

Sherry

I was diagnozed with esophagus cancer and a 5x5 met in liver today. I had the same proecude last year that came all negative.

I am going to hematologist on Tuesday and surgen on Wed. When do they know the stage and what is her2.

Thanks and all your prayers. I am 61 year male bread winner with 13 year old twins.

Looking for some hope in this very dark day for me.

God Bless
