I was diagnosed with stage 4 oropharyngeal in Novenmber of 2016. Started Keytruda in Jan 2017 with 30 min infusions. Have had 2 so far 3 weeks apart. I will have 3rd this coming Wed. NO side effects and I feel better, like  I may be responding. I will get more information on the follow up tests after the 3rd treatment..to check on progress, but I know there is a change.

had radiation and chemo 5 years ago, in tonsil area, although this is thought to be a different cancer, possibly EBV virus related. Had biopsy,Mri and pet. They gave me 4 to 6 months.  Tumor was widespread and radical surgery was only possible cure. Not sure about insurance but since Keytruda is now FDA approved I think it will be covered. Insurance is stalling, it is approx 17,000 per infusion.

Replying for my hubby in hospital. Has stage 4 sarcoma lungs. On Keytruda 3 rounds. Some grew some shrank -got really short of breath on oxygen 24/7. They say it is from the tumors and game over for him. Don't know. Keep hoping it is pseudo progression and he will rally. Got to get him out of that hospital and into one where his cancer doc is.
