Ask your oncologist about the professional help you need. You have to calm down and go with the flow. We have all been in your shoes, you just have to put it in your mind that you are  going to beat this, otherwise you are setting your self up for failure. Your oncologist can probably give you something to calm you down. Ask questions and be your own advocate. Best Wishes,BJK

Sorry to hear about your biopsy results. Don't  get discouraged, they will probably do radiation and/ chemotherapy. I hope that you have a feeding tube, you will need that for nourishment. I had the surgery 19 years ago, they took a big part of my tonsil area and soft palate out. I have a giant hole in my throat and the top of my mouth. After I healed, the doctors made me a new set of dentures with an Obturator to f...

I had tonsil cancer 19 years ago. I had a feeding  tube which is a good idea to get your nutrition after the surgery and during my radiation treatments. I had it for 14  months. Now I am experiencing the effects of h...

Nineteen years ago I had throat cancer in the left tonsil area. I had surgery, radiation and hyperbaric treatments. My swallowing has always been limited. Then four years ago ,I had aspirational pneumonia. Then I had a swallow test and they said to get a feeding tube.I refused the feeding tube. I had one for 14 months with the original surgery and all I had were infections around the area of the tube.  I found ou...

I was diagnosed with dysphasia three years ago. I had throat cancer surgery over 18 years ago. Has anyone had a Botox injection in their esophagus to help their swallowing? If so, how long did it last and did it help? Thank you,bjk
