The nurse also took note of a spot on his brow that could be a skin cancer... that said, the spot's been there for years and no one has taken not of it before.

Pump's out, that was the last treatment of this cycle. Now we find out when he gets scanned, which should be in about a week. ... he experienced a pain in his side over the holidays, hopefully that was the tumour dying.

Also, his CEA was a little up. Something to the effect of 280 to 300.

All right, father as his pump. Supposedly, when he goes to get it out Thursday, they'll have a date to do a scan, then we'll decide what to do next after the scan. Hopefully we don't have to do anything.

Dunno... they were planning to stop the oxaliplatin anyway, he'd already gone through ten treatments with it involved, which as I understand it is about as much as most people can take.

No, it IS the last one. Then he gets scanned and we decide what to do next.

Nope, it's the next-to-last one. So my initial assumption was right.

So apparently the next chemo treatment (9 Jan/a week from Tuesday) is supposed to be the last one, I don't know what they'll do from there. Since my father's had treatments delayed, though, I thought it would take a while longer to finish the course.

Supposedly they're not going to restart the oxalyplatin at any poinr, but instead if/when the tumor starts to grow they'll switch to something different? There are still about half a dozen things they can try I think.

They discontinued the oxalyplatin for the time being, father still has the 5FU pump, and I think the leucovorin is still a thing.
