I had my left kidney removed in 2017. Previous to this surgery I was very active and healthy (mostly). Since my surgery and before I was diagnosed with RCC (pain and unable to work in May, surgery in November, return to work February) I have been gaining weight and unable to lose even a pound. My doctor put me on Ritalin to combat the fatigue so I can work, and that completely Kills my appetite, so much so that I will wake up, work, workout and might only be able to eat a salad or some meat and cheese for dinner and lunch. I’ve never even been this heavy before and thought just being somewhat active in my daily life- compared to bed ridden for months, would have some positive effect on my weight, but nothing seems to be working. I’m only 34, and my husband and I want to have children, but I just don’t see how I’m healthy enough with the weight gain and fatigue. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m currently also seeing a ND (naturopathic doc.) who is doing acupuncture and I’ve added supplements and nutrient drinks to my daily routine and nothing so far aside from phantom pain where my kidney was. Any help would be SO VERY appreciated!
