Thanks for your comment. I'm very aware of what Lupron does. My case is much differnet from yours in that I'm 79, and my PSA was 15.7. After Radiation, I was down to 0.1 which as you know means cancer free. I've been on Lupron for 10 months now and that was a 6 month and only shot I've ever had. My Oncologist said the hot flashes should be going away soon.

What a stupid insensitive reply Dean. First off, I’m probably older and have been through far more emotional and physical setbacks in my life than you have. I chose Lupron as an added insurance policy in addition to my 45 Radiation treatments. As for “hot flashes”, every male reacts differently to it’s severity. My brother in law who is 4 years younger than I am has been on Lupron for over 17 years and doesn’t experi...

Thanks Dawn. Hard to believe that the two of us have reached this age and still feel and act like we're very young and healthful individuals. I used to be in the folk group The New Christy Minstrels that I'm sure your Mom and Dad were aware of. I left them in 1966. Kenny Rogers came into the group shortly after I left and I knew him before. Tell him to "keep the faith" and everything will be fine.  Warmly, Eric ...

Hi Dawn. Has your Dad had an MRI? If not, then I would ask my Urologist why? As far as energy, I too have always had an energic life style. I still ride my bike 10 to 12 miles everyday, but the Radiation and the Lupron really kicks your butt energy wise. They say, that will come back with time.

I had a 6 month injection of Lupron on January 19th of this year. It’s now November 7th, and my hot flashes are just as bad as ever, if not worse. My doctor did tell me not to expect the effects to wear off in 6 months, but I’m not in my 10th month. I’m not going to say that if I had it to do over I wouldn’t have taken the shot, because I’m now cancer free with a PSA number of 0.1 from 15.7 before external radiation ...
