Hello - I was diagnosed with stage 4 nasopharyngeal carcinoma back in Oct 2015. Went through chemo/radiation (cisplatin and 5FU). Then last year, I had SRS done (radio surgery, it’s a different type of radiation). Just 2 weeks ago, my oncologist says I need to do chemo again (cisplatin and gemcitabine). And next steps after chemo, if chemo doesn’t work, she would start me on immunotherapy (pembrolizumab and nivol...

Hello - I am very interested in hearing how you healed yourself. I am a stage 4 nasopharyngeal cancer patient. I was diagnosed back in Oct 2015. Have done chemo and radiation and last year I completed another round of radiation. Just a couple of weeks ago, my oncologist told me I’ll have to once again do another round of chemo. I would love to know more about what you did and attempt your approach. Thanks!

Can anyone tell me if its worth going through a procedure to getting a Portacath inserted? I'm extremely nervous about this! Is it painful? And how long was the procedure? Thanks!

Hi All - I'm 34 yo and was diagnosed with stage 4 Nasopharynx Carcinoma on 10/23/15. I have had 21/33 radiations and 5/7 chemo (cisplatin). Last radiation is scheduled for 1/7/16!! Wahoo! My doctor recommends that I get a second round of chemo. He says: given stage IV disease, the chance of cure is about 60%. I recommend 2nd phase of treatment (chemo alone with Cisplatin and 5FU) to maximize the chance of cure....

I'm new to this site. It's so great to hear that your husband is doing well. I was recently diagnosed with NPC. I'm 34 with 2 young girls. To hear success stories is very encouraging for me. I will fight this with a smile! Congrats to your daughter on the wedding!

Hello PopPop - Thank you for your post. I'm smiling from eat to eat knowing that you and someone you know survived this more than a decade ago! When you have a moment, can you tell me about your chemo and radiation experience? Did you ever want to give up? And what side effects do you have now, if any? Thanks!

Hi All- I was diagnosed with stage 3 or 4 NPC about 2 weeks ago. They have yet to confirm the stage. But my doc says the tumor has spread pass the skull and to cranial nerves. I've been having pretty bad headaches and numbness to the right side of my face. I had my PET scan done yesterday and results were good. Doc says the cancer did not spread anywhere else in my body. Yay! I want to know what to expect g...
