I have been using Colgate Peroxyl Mouth sore rinse. It helps me and I am 10 years out after colo/rectal chemo/radiation, surgery which took retume plus some colon. 18 inchs to be exact. I have gone thru it all and still running to the bathroom. If you can eat peanut butter, that will slow your colon down. I am so many different drugs now that dry out my body, including my colon. I know certain foods will move thru yo...

I hope Priscilla stays warm and close to you and Elvis during this awful time. Dogs are ours to enjoy, not to keep in a cage. Having gone through Chemo and radiation myself, I would hate to see any dog go through this. Hug Priscilla and Elvis and enjoy them both.

What does your oncologist say about them? Is your son having any other changes? Zeloda with radiation caused me severe pain in my left arm and nausea and voimiting.

I lost 40 lbs. during chemo and radiation and then some after surgery. I started gaining weight after the chemo I took after surgery. I had an ileostomy for seven months it was a lot better than what I am going thru now.

I took 28 days of Xeloda with radiation. My cancer appeared to be at stage III with no mets. It was very hard to swallow the pills while feeling nausea. My Doctor performed a sigmoid after my treatments and the tumor was gone. Just a scare remained. I lost 40 pounds during the Xeloda and radiation due to vomiting and diarrhea. I am not sure I would do it again after knowing my outcome.

I feel that screening for colorectal Cancer should start around age 40 to 45. I was diagnosed at age 51, but had I been screened by age 45 the cancer would have been caught much earlier. Insurance pays for colonoscopies beginning at age 50.

I had my rectum removed due to stage III Colo/Rectal cancer in 2009. I took chemo and radiation before surgery and more chemo after surgery. I had an ielostomy for 7 months and then a reversal. In other words I am back to pooping through my anus. I have had 5 very tough years with bowel incontinance. I have to take up to 6 Lomotil a day to slow down my bowels. I have tryed the BRAT diest and different fibers. I have ...

It was in 2007 when I started noticing blood when I wiped after a bowel movement. I thought it was hemorrhoids. After searching and waiting I had my first colonoscopy and they found a tumor about 4 inches from my anus. After 2 opinions, I went with Oral 5FU with IMRT radiation. Twenty eight days of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. I then had surgery to remove my rectum and some colon and install an Ileostomy. I also received a Greenfield IVC and a Mediport for future Chemo treatments. I received 3 treatments of FolFox using my mediport. The side affects of the chemo was pretty bad. Seven months later my Ileostomy was reversed. This is when the real fight began. I was introduced to bowel incontinence 101. I have tried many different diets including the B.R.A.T. diet, Bananas, Rice, applesauce and toast.I tried using Fiber to bulk up my stool. I still had problems stopping my bowels. I still take Lomotil every day and experience anxiety and depression. I travel very little and stay home a lot. Staying close to a bathroom, preferably mine, helps calm my anxiety. I have not been able to work due to my Bowel Incontinence going on five years. I have been ready for one more surgery to install a permanent colostomy. I am hoping for a bright light at the end of this tunnel. God Bless Us All.
