I was diagnosed with RCC 2005 secondary in 2007 went to the bone in left shoulder, I think 2010 bone right thigh, 2016 L3 vertebrae. It’s now in my rib behind breast bone and now gone into the soft tissue and lung. I’ve outlived my expiry date so feel very lucky. So if I wake up on the right side of the be...

Hi Jason my name is Jenny also from Australia. I was diagnosed in 2005. I read where you were suffering with pain from your fractured rib. I also have a fractured left rib behind the breast bone. It felt like I was having a heart attack when it fractured. I was put on steroids for the pain but they ended up down the loo due to they were doing my head in. I’ve been taking turmeric for the pain so no longer suffer. It’...

When I first started on sutent in 2008 I was vomiting at least twice a week but soon found out it was nitrates that was causing the nausea and vomiting. Once giving up ham, bacon, sausages and corned silverside I came right. I now can't eat too much chocolate or sweet deserts. I also make everything from scratch now nothing out of a packet or tin. Hope this helps.

Cancer does not need to be a death sentence. I had my kidney out in 2005 then it hit my bones, shoulder, thigh, vertebrae and now rib behind the breast bone. I was operated on shoulder, thigh and vertebrae. Can't operate on my rib due to it being behind the breast bone. I have out lived my expiry date due to my diet, exercise and positive attitude Go all organic, don't buy anything in a packet or tin, make everyth...

Sorry to hear you are having a difficult time but I've found ginger yoghurt helps with nausea. . If you can't buy it buy plain or vanilla yoghurt and grate fresh ginger into it. I also drink bout six cups of ginger and lemon tea a day. I have never felt better.

                      About JennyA

                      Patient
                      Renal Cell Cancer
                      Surgery

In 2005 i was diagnosed with Renal cell cancer with a 6.4 tumor on my right kidney. I had my kidney removed and was given the all clear. In 2008 it appeared in the bone in my left shoulder. I was operated on and now supporting a prothesis. I was then put on Sutent and suffered many side effects, nausea, sore feet, itchy scalp, didn't feel like eating, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and thyroid. They lowered the dosage and still had side effects so am on a very low dosage of 12.5. In 2010 it then went to the bone in my right thigh. I was operated on again and support a prosthesis in my thigh. I'm all clear right now, still have a few side effects from the sutent. I've also become intolerable to nitrates. I vomit constantly if I eat meat with nitrates. Too much chocolate has the same affect and spicy food is not tolerated. I would be interested to know if anyone else has the same problem with nitrates.
October 2018 An update. I’ve since had my 2, 3 and 4 vertebrae removed again now sporting a plate and rods in my back.
I have a tumour on my 3rd left rib. This was picked up on a scan about 2 years ago. It’s since travelled into soft tissue and into my lung. Since going organic and only fresh food, making everything from scratch I believe this has helped me survive this long.
