Hi all,   Had a PET scan a little while ago to see why my broken right hip was not healing. Turns out the CA had spread into the hip and was preventing the good cells from healing. Saw a radiation oncologist yesterday and they start radiation treatment on 8/17. It will be 10-15 treatments which will hopefully kill the bad cells and allow the good cell to heal the hip and get me out of the wheelchair.   Th...

The blood in the urine might be bladder cancer. It is unrelated to the prostate cancer but I had it also. Have him see an uronogist to check. .JimGray

Hi,   Glad to be able to talk with you. I also was diagonosed with stage 4 about 2 years ago and was given 1-3 years. Obviously they were wrong. My urologist/oncologist has been very agressive in my treatment and I feel pretty good   I have been able  to talk to my wife and children and they know that I am living on borrowed time. My PSA is starting to take off again, doubled from dec to jan, almost ...

Make sure he takes a lot of calcium. Was diagnosed with stage 4, matastatic, castrate resistant prostate cancer a while back. It turns out the cancer eats bones (calcium). Just before the New Year I had a little fall and fractured my hip. Be careful. JimGray

My lesions were on my spine, ribs, and shoulder blades. They did find them on a bone scan. They do show as "hot spots". Also have had 2 bouts of bladder cancer in the last year. No big deal but a pian. Hope things get better JimGray

I'm 75 and still hanging in there. I also was diagnosed with stage 4 matstatic, castrate resistant, prostate resistant of the bones in Oct 2015. Thank goodness my doc has me under an aggressive treatment program. We started with xofigo (radium 223 infusion) then provenge (boosting the immune cells). It seems to be working and the matastasis has stopped at present. You might want to talk to his doc about those treatme...

The CBD has no THC in it. It is made from hemp not cannabis. Wish it did, getting a little high might not be too bad. JimGray

Hi All,   My back and leg pain from the stage 4 matastatic castrate resistant prostate cancer that spread to the bones along multiple back surgeries has been pretty severe. Have  a pain pump that delivers over 1000nmg of fentanyl per day(about equal to over 500 oxycotin pills a day). Have decided  to try CBD from hemp. Only been on for a couple of days but the pain seems to be reduced. Hope that it is...

Just had my 4th tumor from my bladder removed this morning. The 2nd in less than one year. I know that it is no big deal but it is a pain in the butt to keep  having the tumors removed. Still diagnosed with stage 4 matastatic, castrate resistent prostate  cancer that  has spread to the bones. Do not think there is any relationship between the two but there is always a concern.    Whil...

Is anyone out there gone through Provenge treatment?    My PSA is starting to creep up and the Doctor suggested that I try the Provavenge treatment program. Based  on what I have read that the three week program will increase my life expectency by about 4.1 months. Not a lot but better than nothing. Starting to get tired of all the pills and treatments. Have gone through or am taking Xgeva, Eligard, X...

Was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer on May 13, 2016. (Friday the 13th). Had prostatectomy in 10/94, radiation in 2007 and thought things were OK. PSA stayed low. Had kidney stones in Oct 2015,ran a PSA=40.2 and bone scan. Found the problem then. Am on hormones and Dexamethasone. Feel pretty good but very concerned with what is happening. When we were given the "terminal word" we were stunned and didn't ask many questions. See the man tomorrow and he better have a lot of answers.
Been goggling a lot and have a lot of different info. Some "good" and some "bad", don't know what to believe at present. I'm 73 tears old and thopught I would live forever (wrong). Anyone out there with any ideas about different treatments that could be helpful? I'm in a daze and need all rhe help I can get. anything would be greatfully appreciated.
