Praying for my cc friends who are still battling pc.   I stop in from time to time to check on all of you.    It makes me smile to see that you are still posting because I know that you are still kicking cancers butt!! I received an email yesterday from the pancreatic cancer action network.    They are having a 5K in the Dallas area this fall.    I've never ran ...

Hope all of you are doing well and continuing to FIGHT!

It's been a month already since my dad lost his battle.    I'm doing okay.    I'm still at peace knowing he is out of pain and was ready to go.

Praying for all of those affected by PC every single day!

Hi guys.  I've been MIA for awhile.   I got to spend precious time with my dad during his last two weeks though. Dad's eyes started turning yellow over memorial day weekend.     June 2nd and 3rd he had to receive blood transfusions.  June 6th, when he went in for his PET scan,  they admitted him right away because he was so jaundiced.   I rushed back to be with ...

Went to visit dad over the weekend.   I was shocked at what I found!  Just 3 weeks ago he was so active and talkative.  It was hard to believe that he really was in stage IV except for the weight loss and his pain. This weekend he barely moved from his chair.    I only saw him stand up 3 times in the 3 days we were there.     He slept 16 hours straight on saturd...

Dad took 3 weeks off from chemo to regain some strength.  Not only did he not regain any strength but he continues to go downhill.   He's very weak, to the point that its hard for him to talk for long on the phone.    The diarrhea has subsided but only because he can't keep much food down.   He's gone from sleepless nights to sleeping almost all day long ( of course he still ca...

The holiday that once signified the beginning of summer has a complete different meaning to me this year.    We've ALWAYS celebrated the holiday by spending time at the lake - all of us.   My parents, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, my kids and husband........ It's just not happening this year and this is the first time in my 42 years on this earth.   My first trip to the lake I w...

I found a book at the grocery store the other day - just sitting there in my line of sight and I thought that Kevin must have guided me to it.  I rarely read because I don't have the time and I never look at books, especially in a grocery store!!  I've been so curious about heaven ever since he died. The book is called 90 minutes in heaven and it's a true story about a man named Don Piper who died and then...

Dad's CA19-9 count remained at 41 again this week.    His cancer seems stable but his pain in the abdomen is increasing and he's weak and tired.    I guess stage IV pc and 8 full  months of chemo really takes it out of ya! His oncologist said it's ok for him to take a break from chemo for awhile and see how it goes.     He will go in every 3 weeks to have his CA...

It's down to 41 !!!!     Praise the lord!! We have renewed hope.   I just wish dad felt better.   He's weak and tired.    Today he's sick to his stomach.  Still having pain and diarrhea after eating, especially in the evenings.   Creon doesn't seem to help.    But it's been 8 months today since his first chemo treatment and he's st...
