    Every person is different.  After my radiation treatments, it was like my tongue/mouth/throat didn't work so I understand what you are going through.  First, have you asked the Dr's for something to dry you up?  I was given prescription for the patches you use for sea sickness.  Also gargling with salt water and I seem to remember gargling with hydrogen peroxide!!       Oh boy, the dreaded face mask!!  I couldn't even make it through the fitting - I was given a shot of Ativan -- didn't even touch my panic so they gave me another which finally bought me down to where they could fit me.  Right then they gave me a script for Ativan and said to take it an hr or so before I came in for my radiation.  After 6-7 treatments I was able to survive without the Ativan.  Hope...

        My dr gave me the patches they use for seasickness -- they help dry you up!

          When my pet scan came back showing something on the opposite side of my tongue from where the cancer was I ended up having a second biospy done -- it was yeast causing the false positive!!

            If its OK with your dr find a person that does Medical Massages -- they may or may not be covered by insurance.  I go 2x a month to a guy that my speech therapist recommended.  And I still see my speech therapist every 2-3 months and she does an intense massage on my neck.  Insurance covers her.

              There are many different ways to treat Base of the Tongue cancer.  Some have surgery and radiation or chemo, others have surgery only, while others have radiation and chemo. You are OK with a regular ENT doing the biopsy but then you need to move on to a cancer treatment center at your local or regional or teaching hospital where the "team" will decide your best options if you are able to.  DO NOT all...
