Hello, I havn't posted lately, but my husband has been put on a new treatment and I wondered if anyone has too been put on this medication.  It is one pill every day, without breaks like the Sutent.. My husband became verry very ill after a year on Sutent and the doctor put him on a break.  The first three month scan showed no new growths, but his last ct scan showed that his tumors had again started to g...

We are in the same place you are right now.  Pfizer worked with until the end of 2015 and we have reapplied.  I'm just praying that they will renew us again and are keeping our fingers crossed! Good luck The Irwins

Hello again, My husband has stage 4RCC and has been on Sutent for almost one year.  His scans have been great, but he started having severe side effects in November.  His doctor suggested taking a break, but he suddenly gained nearly 34 poouonds in a matter of days.  We feared it was his remaining kidney in failure, but his doctor has suggesting that he has developed congestive heart failure as a side...

Hello again, I would tend to agree with you if my husband could get up and walk every day, but he is so weak that he can barely walk from the bedroom to the bathroom without stopping.  I'm not talking about letheragy. but profound fatigue, where he  can't get to the doctor without help.  From what I have read about this drug and comments from other patients, I would say that my husband's quality of li...

Dear Margo, We are also on the same schedule you are using,  We have a complete blood workup every 4-6 weeks followed with a CT scan every three months.  We have just started the Sutent with the 4on and 2 off, but we are now usig 2 on and 1 off.  I think it will be better for my husband.  I am always interested in hearing from someone who has been using Sutent for several years.  That is ver...

We are starting our next session with Sutent today!  My husband is almost back from his terrible first shot with four weeks on and two weeks off protocol and we are doing two weeks on and one week off this time and are keeping our fingers crossed,   We are very encouraged about your upcoming DNA trial.  I have read about this theraphy, but thought it was way off in reality.  This sounds very hope...

Wow!  This sounds like an amazing breakthrough!  I live in southern California and my oncologist subscribes to UCLA and follows their protocol.  I imagine that this new protocol will come our way too.  You are quite fortunate to be part  of the ground floor study.  Please keep us posted on your progress.  I will pass this on to our oncologist as well. Blessings, Linda

Thank you so much for your input.  I have read that there are studies on the two week on one week off protocol and the results were very positive as far as getting maximum efficiency  with the lower docing.  I have been reading everything that I could find on the subject and now that I have heard from you I feel even more confident about changing his protocol. I havn't yet found anyone who has experie...
