Ernies cancer never ruptured. He did die in May from the cancer and probably a few other items we wont know about. He had no pain and hospice was in to help me. They were great. The aftermath is not so good. Have not been on my own in 55 years. Wow what a mess. When I get down I just remind myself that if I had died first my husband could never handled it. Now on with the rest of my life. It will be good. I do someti...

Hi Monica: My husband died May 22. Had hospice for 3 weeks plus help from my daughter. I am sorry that you had to go through what you did with your husband. We both had no idea of the aftermath would be. We were together 55 yrs and now they seem to want to erase him.You have a tremendous amount of paperwork. Then we have to go into this next portion in  our life. Nobody gave us instructions on what to do when yo...

You have to be your own health care advocate! I have been to 3 Oncologists and I have come to the conclusion that they dont know crap about cancer. My husband is 6 months in to squamous cell carcinoma mestatic of the neck. Has it on his neck. the size of apple. Dr just immediately want to cut dice and chemo with out telling you the reacurance rate. Neck cancer always come back so why would he go through the barbaric ...

Since I have not heard back from you I am assuming that Paul is no longer in pain. I am sorry for your loss. Now you will have to reinvent yourself. You have been a caregiver for many years and have gone thru hell and back but you will find joy out of life again. Give it time and you will find your way. God Bless You! Marcia

Monica how are you and Paul doing? We are still hanging in there. Ernie is in nursing home for rehab for his hip. Hope to bring him home in a week as his tumors are growing and I want him comfortable. I had my daughter go stay with him today as I took a needed break as I was making myself sick. I am sure you know the feeling we get about taking care of them. It is hard to take care of yourself but you know you have t...

Isint it interesting how all of a sudden your life takes a direction you would never have imagined. My husband has neck cancer and already had one removed from behind is ear.We has always be very proud of his heath and fitness. Not doing any treatment because he is 80. He started with shingles in June. That laid him out for months. Then this darned cancer came up and we dont know where it came from. Doctors dont even...

That is exactly why Ernie chose to not do the treatment. Wanted top live what life that was left without going through treatment that would not work anyway. Unfortunately today he fell outside a store we were shopping at and broke his hip. We live in a town in New Mexico that barely has a hospital. We (my daughter and I) took him to the emergency room and they xrayed to confirm the break. Ambulance just left to take ...
