Hello, Yes, has been a while. Tried twice to send a private message to you, but they would not go through. I'm on a trial now. Xofigo did not seem to work for me. How is your uncle? Take Care, Monty

Just an update... I guess I'm one of the unlucky ones that it does not help. I did lose 9 pounds, though, without trying. Had three rounds of Xofigo. My ALP lowered with each round...with the most recent count being 105. After my third round, a bone scan showed that new bone mets had developed, so my Xofigo was stopped after three rounds. I was sure that it would put a halt on my bone mets, but I was wrong.

Hey Charlie, Great to hear from ya! Have you ever been on Zytiga (abiraterone acetate) ? I was on it for 11 months with Lupron and my PSA started to rise so my MO dropped it for me and now I'm getting Radium 223 with the Lupron. Keep fighting!! Take Care, Monty

Hello Gene, Do you know if would be normal for Radium 223 treatment to result in a lowering of one's PSA ? I was of the opinion, maybe mistaken, that Radium 223 would not be expected to lower one's PSA. Prior to my second treatment, something stopped my PSA from rising and lowered it also (slightly). I'm not sure whether to attribute it to the Radium or something else. Take Care, Monty

Hello Shellie, That's great that you uncle's ALP was down to 400 from 1000! Hope it continues to drop. My Hgb was a little low (13.3) on June 29...when I received my first Radium 223 treatment. Have to really watch it as the Radium can cause it to be low, but today I was told it was all good. Hope your uncle's blood test is a good one. Take Care, Monty

In January my PSA had started to climb each month. After 11 months of being on Zytiga, it was apparently losing its effectiveness and my MO dropped it for my in April. January my PSA was .8, Feb. was 1.3, Apr. was 3.6,...June was 19.9. Prior to my June lab I had tried IP6...taking 7 scoops in the morning and 7 in the evening in an attempt to slow the rise, but it did not seem to help. I had given up on the IP6 but ...

With a 400 PSA I would find a very good Urologist and immediately go to him/her to be checked out.
