I would be interested in this. I was diagnosed with carcinosarcoma uterine cancer 4 years ago and have not been pronounced in remission yet but the cancer has not recurred. I went through chemo, radiation and had surgery for mine. Currently I have lymphodema in my left leg from treatment...but am glad to be alive.

I was diagnosed with Carcinosarcoma uterine cancer 4 years, stage 1b...had a hysterectomy and 19 lymph nodes removed. Was given Chemo and radiation. Am doing really well. Not in remission yet as my doctor feels it is too soon to call. Am living life to the fullest. Tell your mom to hang in there and remain positive. It really helps.

From what I understand type is defined as from 1 to 5 with 5 being the worst in cancer.  Stage really doesn't matter that much in this kind of cancer according to my doctor.  I too had bleeding in March of 2013 and went immediately to see my doctor who ordered testing.  They did three tests and referred me to a gynocologist for a biopsy.  The gyn office scheduled me for 6 weeks out.  I tried ...

Dear Amy, So glad to hear from you. It is hard to find people with this cancer to talk to as it is so rare. Mine was a stage 1a type 5 and pretty localized. My doctor said she won't say remission because she doesn't want to jinx my recovery. But she thinks I might be there.. I have been fortunate to have a doctor who is in research. She knew just what to do and had me in surgery within a week of my first visit with h...

I was diagnosed with Carcinosarcoma cancer of the uterus in May of 2013. I was stage 1a. My cancer was found because I had light spotting and the first time I noticed it I went to the doctor. My treatment was complete hysterectomy, Chemo and radiation. I was allergic to the Chemo and was only able to have 4 major treatments. Had to be hospitalized to have them with a 24 hour nurse standing by. Lost my hair with the first treatment. The doctor was going to do robotic surgery but the robot was nonfunctioning that day so I told her to go ahead with the convention surgery. So glad I did as the robotic surgery is proving to be lethal to persons having cancer as it spreads it in your body. Am still going for 3 month checks with blood tests regularly to check for recurrance of cancer. I feel fortunate in being diagnosed early but am still worried about this cancer.
