They found a spot on my lung 2 1/2 yrs ago.  Biopseyed it and said it was a met from H&N cancer in 2010. First the Pulmo Doc took a shot at going down my throat and could not get to it.  Then, the local lung Doc wanted to carve out half my lung the next morning. Thank God my little Indian Doc (radioloigist) just blurted out "I can shoot that thing with 5 bursts of radiation and give you a 78% chance o...

I am getting very close to 900 days out on a Notice of Disagreement.  In order to get an appeal hearing you need a Form 9 and a statement of case just to get into the BVA que.  Still waiting on those 2 items. I am never going to stop this appeal and have plans to keep it going if I die. I am also voting for Trump.  He probably wont help but, I know Hildabeast wont. GET A LAWYER.....Period. Slowlane...

The VA will deny any cancer not on the presumptive list and deny most any cancer on the list. You need to file a claim anyway.  Heck, even the VA dont know what they are going to do. They have DQB's which are a kind of a form that you get your doc to fill out.  Try and connect Agent Orange in any way that you can.  It may end up like a court trial down the road. Good luck and welcome home.  Slo...

I had SBRT about a year ago.  So far it has worked. I had a thread somewhere here. 4 1/2 years out from head neck cancer....got a 3/8" nodule on my lung. 5 Treatments with SBRT appear to have got it. Would do it again. Slowlane

My head and neck cancer was NED for 4 1/2 years after 35/3 treatments. Dec of 2014 I began feeling weak, short of breath and loss of weight, I got a PET scan and they found a dime size SCC tumor in my upper left lung. The patholigist automatically claimed that it was a met. So far after a year and 5 SBRT treatments I am clear but under surveilance every 3 to 6 months. God is great Slowlane

Yes, Tracy, It was SCC. I had 5 SBRT treatments and they killed an area about the size of a golf ball.  Its been almost a year now and I am holding with no groth and no new spots.  The Rick Simpson Oil spammer must have got a little extra tonight. God Bless you all Slowlane

I have seen a lot of Doctors in my 68 years.  A lot of them were Quacks, self centered, old school, used car salesmen and just pure dangerous. Always take someone with you for their opinion about a new Doctor....2 heads are better than one. This site offers great advise and knowledge.  Thank you to all Cancer Compass members. Slowlane

What is SBRT? Stereotactic body radiation therapy. Large doses of radiation, computer guided to pinpoint areas like brain etc. I had a small marble sized tumor in my upper left lung and they fried it and an area about the size of a golf ball with SBRT about 8 months ago.....so far so good....I get CT'd again on the 22nd of this month.  22 Feb, 2016.  Slowlane

Kevin If 6-9 months sounds like your Doc needs to make a house payment. From everything you have written, I would get a second or third opinion. Slowlane
