Survivors of Aml

by SunriseSmile - December 05 at 9:44 PM

Hi,

I am an AML survivor. I am a woman who was diagnosed AML 5a in 2002 when I was just 19. I had an autologous bone marrow transplantation in 2004, because in my country they don't do it from donor. But luckily it helped me.

Now I am 34 and I am still in remission. I forgot about this disease. But now I am pregnant. It was very difficult to do it as the treatment influenced my fertility, but with the help of God I was able to become pregnant. I hope that my pregnancy will not influence my remission. I try to be optimistic about my situation and can't imagine that smth bad can happen. I hope that the disease will never return and I will have a long life ahead and hope the same for all of you. I wonder if there are people who were able to survive for more than 20 or 30 years... And maybe there are women who were able to have children after AML and are in remission...

Good luck for everyone!
