I started to get some neurological issues about 6 months post treatments( stage 3 tonsil cancer with Cisplatin and 35 radio). Had a "buzzing" feeling that would appear in different parts of my body, but have since gone away, muscle twitches, no longer can lift weight hard due to twitches. and i also get that "all over vibration" feeling , but only on rare occasions and only when waking up.  All these things ar...

Working? For me(and everyone is different), i had to stop working at about the third week of treatments. I started back to work(part time so I could take a nap each day)about 4 weeks after last treatment. I was able to go full time a couple weeks later, but still took a quick nap in my car everyday. I was blessed to have a physically easy job and a very understanding boss an co-workers. As others have said, the last...

I am almost 2.5 years out (from last treatment), fortunately I have forgotten some of the "bad times" but I do remember beginning to feel better at about week 3 and actually returned to work (part time) on week four. The saliva situation should slowly improve over time and may continue to improve for up to about 2 years. Taste bubs will also improve. Gosh I remember how bad food and even water tasted for a long time....

I was treated for Tonsil Cancer approx 2.5 years ago. I get sore hands at time also, which seems to happen during the night but I usually don't feel it until the next morning. Also, I get strange "buzzing" sensation in different places on my body. These only occur sometimes, and may last for a few minutes or several hours. Can't figure out what triggers them or what makes them go away. Mostly they are tolerable, but ...

I agree with the other posts-great suggestions. I am 2 years out and most of my taste has returned. Still don't like anything that is too sweet. My sense of smell returned first-food smelled good, but didn't taste good. Then somethings started tasting better-eggs were the first, then lightly vanilla flavored milk shakes made with almond milk, vanilla ice cream and Boost +. Then more things became palatable but I reme...

I would be glad to add my two cents worth at any time. Would it make sense to further break down the treads? As in  1. Dry mouth/Salvia 2. Fatigue 3.Eating Suggestions 4. Pain etc? However you want to organize it is OK with me. Ches

I don't think so as it happens at different times and different spots on my body, but I will keep a mental note to see if there is any food item that is consistent with timming of these occurences. Thanks for the reply! Ches

Hey, Everybody-I am 2 years out and still NED! Thanks to God! Thanks also to all my good doctors, nurses, technicians, family and friends, including my Cancer Compass friends! One item that continues to aggrivate me is my intermittant nerve sensation that I call "buzzing". Feels like a minor buzz that occurs about every 3-9 seconds. This is currently happening on my right jaw and will last for a hour or so then stop...

Karen, I never had the feeding tube, but i also experienced the decreased desire to eat and decreased volume of consuption. I remember think ( several months post last treatment)" Wow, every meal is a chore". Now, i am 2 years out , and back to being a "foodie" again. Can't remember when the change began but I think it was probably aroung 6 months post treatment. Remember your tastebubs will continue to "mature", so...

Sorry, not sure about the Apples. For me it was more that any alcohol really dried out my mouth making consuption of any alcoholic drink unpleasant. This has gooten a bit better and I now share a glass of wine or a beer with my wife on occassion but rarely do i even finish one glass. I used to love apples and cokes but now I find that anything with a high sugar content is not as "tastey" as it used to be. I am two ye...
