I am SO very sorry about your dad and all that you're going through. I wish I could make it better. Just know you're not alone. Virtual hugs to you ...

WPSJR - First of all, let me just say I'm SO SORRY you and your family are going through this. It SUCKS. I'm SO SORRY. Your dad's diagnosis sounds a bit different than my husband (age 41 when dx), BUT they both had (have) stage 4 poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcimona. My husband's started on his pancreas (golfball size tumor) and spread to his liver. He had chemo - cisplatin/etoposide off/on every three week...

I'm so sorry to learn about your father's diagnosis, Jochen11. Question - Is it fast growing or slow growing? That makes a big difference. My husband had high-grade, poorly differentiated (fast growing). He had to undergo chemo. As far as I know, with the slow-growing kind, there are many different treatment options. I could be wrong, though. My husband had etoposide and cisplatin chemotherapy and he's in remission 4...

First I want to say I am SO SORRY to learn about your dad's diagnosis. This sucks - there's no way around that. I am SO sorry. I completely understand how you feel - although it was my husband, age 41, who was told he had a few months to live. I was GUTTED when we learned of his diagnosis. I remember feeling nauseous and angry and afraid and EVERYTHING. I screamed my head off and then didn't get out of bed for a mont...

I'm so sorry to hear this, mzengin. What kind of NET do you have? It seems you have some good friends and family around you - I'm glad.

Melody - I'm so very sorry about your mom's diagnosis. It sounds like she has the fast-growing form of neuroendocrine carcinoma? Where did it originate? As far as I know, the slow-growing and fast-growing are vastly different from each other. My husband had fast-growing, poorly differentiated. The chemo worked wonders for him - he's 3.5 years in remission. Never give up hope. I hope your mom has some faith ...  ...

trevdave, I'm so very sorry to learn of your mom's diagnosis. I KNOW how scary it is. I'm not a doctor and only know my husband's diagnosis/treatment and what we did - but I do know that there are lots of different types of NET - fast growing/slow growing, poorly differentiated/well differentiated, lots of different treatment options - especially for slow growing. My husband had the worst - fast growing, poorly diffe...

Keeping positive is SO IMPORTANT, Nowlucy! Your husband is BLESSED to have YOU taking care of him. Just MAKE SURE that you also take care of yourself, or you'll be no help to him. It took me a while to figure that out.  Keep doing what you're doing - research - do your homework - be your own advocate. If you're religious AT ALL, I highly recommend you seek help with your church or temple. I met STRANGERS who he...
