I am going to pray for both of you. My heart goes out to you. You can't give up. I am not sure what your religion preference is but I completely believe in the power of prayer. It's not up to the doctor it's up to God so don't give up on your friend. I wish I knew why some chemotherapy works for some but not others. Sending hugs from Maryland.

My gastric cancer came back after 1 year and my medical oncologist wants to start me out with the less aggressive dose of chemotherapy. I am being treated at Johns Hopkins. I don't think anyone really knows which chemotherapy works and what doesn't work because everyone is different. My cancer didn't respond to EOX magic trial while others have done well. There are so many variables that affect rather or not can...

I was diagnosed with Signet Ring Cell Adenocariconma in June 2014.   I received two cycle of EOX (Magic trail) in July and August.  Did not tolerate it well.  I went in for Partial Gasterectomy (removed 1/3 of my stomach) Oct 2014.  The surgeon removed 12 lymph nodes and nine came back positive with cancer.  As a prevention for any microscopic cancer left behind.  We found out two ...

It's been one year and seven months since my stomach surgery (1/3 of my stomach). Signet ring cell adenocarinoma and I still get bloated and nausea if I eat too much. I try to watch how much I eat and drink. I can't eat sweets and some red wines and coffee doesn't agree with me. I take Tums when I start feeling bloated, nausea and gassy. They work almost instantly. I wish you well and I hope you get positive new...

The only procedure that can rule out cancer is the biopsy. You need to find out the results (pathology) of the needle biopsy. The CT scan did not catch my stomach cancer. I had an endoscopy and it was in the greater curvature of my stomach. Something is causing your node to swell. Don't let it go. I wish you the best.

I was diagnosed with gastric cancer in 2014 had chemotherapy, partial gasterectomy, followed by more chemo. My supraclavicular lymph node was enlarged on my last CT scan biopsy was done. Adenocarinoma with Singnet ring cell features. What were the final results of biopsy? I wish you luck. I am receiving FOLFIRI for my lymph node.

What kind of chemo are they going to give your husband. I had 1/3 of my stomach removed at 45 in October 2014. Jan 2015 I had chemo after surgery. FOLFOX 4 cycles. My cancer came back April of this year 2016 to the Retroperitoneal and subclavian lymph nodes. We were told I am not curable. My oncologist wants to give me FOLFIRI.

I had a partial gasterectomy at 45 and I will tell you it was not as easy surgery. This is such a hard call given your father's age. However Signet ring cell is an aggressive growing cancer. If your father doesn't get the surgery it will probably spread rapidly and cause even more problems. If he is operable now I would do it before it spreads to other vital organs in the abdomen. Believe it or not he's very ble...

                      Cancer Treatments, Chemotherapy

I am a 47 year-old white female with resected signet cell gastric cancer. Stage 3. Diffuse Carcinoma Poorly differentiated. I received the MAGIC regimen (EOX) as peri-operative chemotherapy for gastric
cancer: Repeated every 21 days as one cycle with C1D1 on 7/21/14. I was only able to tolerate two cycles of EOX preoperatively, with cycles starting on 7/21 and 8/11/14. On 10/3/14 I had a distal gastrectomy with Billroth-II reconstruction at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Due to poor tolerance of the neo-adjuvant chemotherapy with the MAGIC regimen, the Tumor Board was consulted and recommended omitting the Epirubicin from the post-surgery chemotherapy plan. I I completed 4 cycles of FOLFOX. My cancer has returned to the retroperitoneal and Sub-clavicle lymph nodes. I start FOLFIRI on May 6 2016. I have been told I a. not curable.
