Wow...you're right, but it certainly has its place against the war on BRACA mutation patients.  I have CT scans and MRIs but you're right; if something doesn't feel right, no one knows better than u.  I wish you a speedy recovery as you will recover!  Laury

11,000!  Good Lord!  I guess the rupture was a good or bad thing?  I'm not sure but I'm so happy you got through it, sweetie!  Chemo is tiring and cause nausea and pain, all things a good doctor will readily fix.  The hair loss is the worst but I promise it will come back!  I'm in remission and I take 5000 units of biotin and my hair is thicker than ever.  My husband left me for ano...

The love you have for your grandpa is so beautiful and inspiring.  Since your grandpa is in hospice, maybe you could focus on spending as much time with him as is physically possible and doing everything in life power to make him as comfortable and peaceful as possible.  Good luck, beautiful person.

I am in remission from Stage 3C OC.  My CA was 6500.  It is now 18.  I'm tested every three months, which makes me feel as though if it returns, it will be caught in it's infancy this time.  I'd fight to be checked evéry three months.  It could save your life, love.  But 24 is a good number, as long as it's a stable numer.  Good luck, dear!

Did your mother have intraperitoneal chemotherapy?  A port is placed near or on your rib underneath your breast and paclitaxol and carboplatin are delivered directly to the abdomen/pelvis to "drown" any remaining cancer cells.  I had 6 treatments (I think) or maybe 6 cycles/12 treatments (you also have your regular IV chemo), but I had 3C and have been in perfect health since March 2015 (cancer found in Feb...

What about Ashkenazi women who have a much higher rate of carrying the BRCA mutation than the average population?  They should be tested as far as I'm concerned, especially because I am an Ashkenazi Jewish woman who suffered from 3c Ovarian Cancer and Stage 1 Breast Cancer concurrently.  I have a 70% chance the OC will return.  My doctors are pushing for radical mastectomy--forget it, fellas.  Eve...

Dear Dan, I am crying as I read your post. You and your wife are going through hell right now so this may sound crazy but I look at you as being blessed because of the love that you share.  My husband left me for another woman during my fight against breast and ovarian cancer (which I have won, for now).  I can't even imagine the pain and suffering you both have faced but I think I would try anything that ...

Hi Donna, So the man that YOU took care of left you for another woman?  First of all, the woman he's with must be a desperate pile of garbage if she wants a man like that.  She must have very low self-esteem and no moral compass.  It won't last because the relationship is not built upon a strong foundation, or love.  I will pray for you, too.  Thank you so much for writing to me.  I rea...

In the middle of my treatment for Stage 4 ovarian cancer and Stage 1 breast cancer, my husband decided to have an affair and left me to fend for myself.  I know he's a souless pile of garbage but what  about the woman (a nurse supposedly) that wanted him knowing what he'd done to me?  How many women out there could date a man who left his very ill wife?  I say she's as evil as he is. Please tell m...

Demand a transvaginal sonogram.  U r NOT too young.  Your doctors have no idea what they're talking about.  Call your insurance company, find a new doctor, etc.  Get in touch with www.ovarian.org/ as soon as possible.  I have ovarian cancer due to the BRCA 1 mutation (I'm 51 and just found out i had this genetic mutation which is very serious).  My tumor was half the size of my abdoman. ...
