Once you set up the scaring bridge site, send out a big group email.  Tell everyone you so appreciate their concern but that you need to use the caring bridge site to disseminate information so that you don't spend too much time or energy repeating yourself; that you will post regularly so that they all have updated information; that you look forward to reading their posts; and that you will be sure to share the...

So sorry.  Been there.  There's so much written about the cancer "journey" (how about instead of "journey" we call it what it is--a prolonged stare at hell)?  But not so much written about the raw, enduring STRESS of it.  At a time when I wanted to be the strongest, most positive, loving wife in the world, I was a complete mess and our marriage--so strong before that we had been called "peanut but...

Your friend needs to see an EC specialist asap.  There aren't very many.  One if Jeff Geschwind at Yale, http://yalecancercenter.org/news/CPSS2016%20finalspread_254969_12062.pdf#page=4 another is Kulke at Dana Farber, http://carcinoid.dfci.harvard.edu Both are tightly tied to the clinical trials available in EC.  If the disease is spreading after 5FU and Cisplatin since April, his oncologis...

I'm so sorry.  This is really stressful, I know. Your aunt is very likely dying.  Let her eat or not eat whatever she wants, and spend your time with her focusing on things that make you both smile instead of worrying and trying to make her eat.

Jeff Geschwind, MD, was at Johns Hopkins now at Yale.  But he's top of his field and treated my husband for neuroendocrine cancer 2008-2009.  He passed away, but I'd choose Dr Geschwind again under the same dire circumstances.  http://www.medicineatyale.org/jun2015/features/coverstories/220841/ http://journals.lww.com/oncotimesuk/Fulltext/2005/06000/Chemoembolisation_promoted_as_first_line_therapy.9.a...

Your mom's time is quite limited and chemo/radiation isn't likely to do much but prolong her pain and make her remaining days and nights more miserable than they would be otherwise. Support her decision and focus on letting her have whatever she wants during her final days.  Best to you.

Kim, You won't want to hear this, but honestly (having been where you are), I'd say let him eat whatever he's hungry for and can digest; there is no diet per se that's going to make a difference except to the degree that eating a healthy, balanced diet will help him endure.  Ensure is packed with vitamins and minerals and can be made into milk shakes; he needs to keep up his strength to the degree he can, which...

Try to get to see Dr Yao at MD Anderson in Houston at least for a second opinion before commiting to a treatment plan.  But don't waste time.  http://jco.ascopubs.org/content/29/7/934 http://www.mdanderson.org/patient-and-cancer-information/cancer-information/cancer-types/carcinoid-tumors/index.html
